Isle of Skye
What really surprised me when visiting the Isle of Skye was the landscape. I wasn't prepared for its wild nature, valleys that stretch on forever that were framed by rugged mountains, a vastness that looked unreal. At times it felt less like a real place and more like something imagined, straight from a classic fantasy novel. It is the kind of scenery that stays with you long after you've left. The colours were rich and vibrant, even in the rain and fog, creating an incredible contrast in every photo. Everywhere I looked there were sheep perched in impossible places, somehow completely at home on the steep hillsides. Maybe because I'm from Cape Breton, but there was something so familiar about the winding roads, the wind, and the connection to the sea. It felt strangely comforting, a home away from home, an alternate version of the world I grew up in. The whole experience left a lasting impression on me and a strong desire to return.
